PVC card, IC / ID card characteristics

ID Card:

The full name of ID card is the Identification Card. It is a non-writable proximity card with a fixed number. There are mainly various ID cards such as the EM format of Taiwan SYRIS and the USA HID MOTOROLA. ID card, same as the magnetic card, only use the "card number". Except for the card number, there is no confidentiality function inside the card, and the "card number" is public and exposed. So ID card is just a "inductive magnetic card". ISO standard ID card are: 85.6x54x0.80±0.04mm (height/width/thickness), and there are also some thick, thin or special-shaped cards on the market.

IC Card:

IC card (Integrated Circuit Card), also known as smart card, Intelligent card, Microcircuit card or microchip card, etc. It embeds a microelectronic chip in a card base that meets ISO 7816 standard and makes it into a card. The communication method between IC card and a card reader can be contact or contactless. According to the communication interface, the IC card is divided into contact IC card, contactless IC and dual interface card (with contact and contactless communication interface at the same time).

Due to the advantages of security, portability, and complete standardization, IC cards are being used more and more in the fields of ID authentication, banking, telecommunications, public transportation, and parking management, such as second-generation ID cards, bank e-wallet, mobile phone SIM card, the bus card /metro card of public transportation, the parking card used for charge fees, etc., have an important role in the daily life.

PVC Card:

PVC cards, cards made of PVC materials. PVC material has the characteristics of light weight, heat insulation, heat preservation, moisture-proof, flame-retardant, and easy construction. PVC material is one kind of plastic decoration material. PVC is short for polyvinyl chloride material. It is a material made of polyvinyl chloride resin as the main raw material, adding appropriate anti-aging agents, modifiers, etc., through mixing, calendering, and vacuum suction. Making smart cards is just choose PVC materials to achieve environmental protection, the VIP cards and some convenience cards used in daily life are also made of this PVC material.
